Introducing: The Sphere of Influence
✅ Here’s what you do:
Take a moment to consider all the things that are contributing to your feeling of being overwhelmed —
i.e. work issues, feeling tired, worry about someone you care about, feelings of guilt…
📝 Write them down as a list:

🔍 Now work through your list:
🔵 Within my control:
If you have complete control over an item (you can resolve it without needing anyone’s help),
write it into the circle titled:
Within my control
🟠 I can influence:
If you have partial control or can influence an item (you can resolve part of the item or influence through your actions or behaviours),
write it into the second circle titled:
I can influence
⚪ Everything else:
If the item on your list is completely outside of your control or influence (there is nothing you could do or say that will directly influence this item),
write it into the third circle labelled:
Everything else
📊 Now review your Sphere of Influence:
✅ For items you have control over,
take action on at least one right away — you’ll instantly feel better.
📝 For items you have partial control or influence over,
write the steps you will take and exactly when you are going to do them.
Set your plan.
❌ And finally — this is super important —
Let go of everything else.
Put a big line through them.
If you can’t control or influence it, stop using energy and wasting time even thinking about it.
🎯 Take action on the things you can control or influence.
And you’ll focus your energy where it will be best used.
